The carriage paths in Acadia National Park provide over 40 miles of auto free cycling. Originally built for horse drawn carriages, these paths have gentle grades with wide, crushed stone lanes, and are the ideal way to view the park. The ambitious cyclist will find challenge and reward by taking an early morning ride on the 20-mile Park Loop road. The spectacular scenery is not to be missed.
