Things to Do in Southwest Harbor, ME

Canoeing & Kayaking
Any day on the water is a great time! While you’re staying in Southwest Harbor Maine, you’ll definitely want to enjoy the protected waters of Long Pond, Echo Lake, Seal Cove Pond, or Bass Harbor Marsh. Or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, try the open waters of Southwest Harbor, Somes Sound, and beyond. A wide array of rental boats are available at nearby shops and guide services are offered. We have a mooring available for rent and dock space available for a dinghy.
The carriage paths in Acadia National Park provide over 40 miles of auto-free cycling. Originally built for horse drawn carriages, these paths have gentle grades with wide, crushed stone lanes, and are the ideal way to view the park.
